Hi. I’m Sarah, a Gen X bibliophile, hopeful pessimist, and writer who believes in the remarkable power of a great story. Born and raised in the Philly metro area, I moved to Seattle in the late 1990s and found my way down to Southern California, where I’ve lived since 2005.
I’ve always aimed to use my passion for storytelling to make a difference. Whether it was making greeting cards at age 7, jotting down short stories, or constructing my English grad school thesis, I write to make my audience feel something. An emotional stake is the fuse that ignites change, whether that’s inside ourselves or out in the world.
In 2015, I founded Protagonist Content to help the world’s protagonists—brands and people who believe we can do better—be heard through the clamor of 1.1 BILLION websites.

For nearly 15 years, I’ve done exactly that for purposeful businesses, B Corps, solopreneurs, nonprofits, and higher ed institutions across the nation. I guide them to get super clear on what they need to say and how to say it in a real, human way. Then they can focus on what they do best: Keeping the apocalypse at bay, and hope alive.
I have a high need for control, but felt very confident in Sarah’s management of our projects and was extremely pleased with the experience and all the deliverables.
